Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is recruiting aWatsan Managerfor its project in Liwale, Lindi Region, Tanzania. The position plans, coordinates, implements and monitors water, hygiene and sanitation activities according to MSF protocols and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, budget and monitor Water, Hygiene and Sanitation activities for the project.
- Supervise implementation of water-supply, sanitation, hygiene, waste-management and vector-control activities.
- Support technical sustainability of water-treatment and sanitation systems.
- Coordinate Watsan activities with medical, logistics and local health-authority teams.
- Supervise and develop Watsan staff and support emergency preparedness.
- Collect, analyse and report Watsan data and operational results.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Academic background in Engineering or equivalent relevant training.
- Watsan in Emergencies training within MSF is strongly recommended.
- Previous experience in technical water and sanitation work.
- Minimum 6 months of hands-on field emergency WaSH experience in a humanitarian or international-development setting.
- Good spoken and written English and Kiswahili.
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and internet use.
