NCBA is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Reinsurance Manager. This role provides essential technical reinsurance support to ensure that NCBA Insurance effectively manages risk exposure, secures appropriate treaty and facultative protection, and maintains overall financial stability.
Key Accountabilities
- Reinsurance Support & Placement: Assess policies to determine reinsurance requirements and recommend suitable treaty and facultative arrangements based on underwriting data.
- Operations & Accounting: Ensure timely execution, documentation, and system set-up of reinsurance agreements, while accurately recording premiums, claims, and commissions.
- Claims Recoveries & Servicing: Coordinate claims notifications, track recoveries, and ensure timely reconciliation with Claims and Finance departments.
- Audit & Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with reinsurance treaties, internal policies, and regulatory expectations, maintaining complete audit trails.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain effective relationships with reinsurers and brokers while providing technical support to Underwriting, Claims, and Finance teams.
Job Specifications & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
- Professional insurance qualification such as ACII, AIIK or equivalent; reinsurance-specific training is an advantage.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in general insurance and reinsurance, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Working knowledge of insurance and reinsurance regulations, governance requirements, and financial controls.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and negotiation skills, with proficiency in insurance core systems.
