AngloGold Ashanti is recruiting anEngineer 3 – UG Mine Planningat Geita Gold Mine Tanzania within the Technical Service department.

Role Objective

Develop optimal underground mine-development options and produce schedules, production forecasts and budgets across short-, medium- and long-term planning horizons while maximizing the value of the underground orebody.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain underground mine schedules across day-week, 1–3 month, 4–18 month and life-of-mine horizons.
• Support resource identification, evaluation and optimization of mine-development opportunities.
• Oversee preparation of physical mine schedules and ensure alignment with reserve and resource confidence.
• Create and maintain planning standards, procedures and document-controlled guidelines.
• Support Operational Excellence initiatives and identify productivity and cost-improvement opportunities.
• Analyse mining methods, cutoff grades, sequencing, infrastructure, equipment and economics for planning areas.
• Track performance against plan, identify variances and implement corrective actions.
• Complete handover packages covering mine design, infrastructure, production schedules, financial models, risks and mitigation plans.
• Implement formal risk assessment for monthly schedules and quarterly forecasts.
• Maintain compliance with SHE&C requirements and safe mine-design principles.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Professional registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
• Minimum 7 years of operational experience in an underground mine.
• Experience with mine-design and scheduling software including Deswik, Studio UG, EPS, Ventsim, Vulcan and mine stope optimizer.
• Strong knowledge of resource and reserve estimation, underground mine design, infrastructure specification, scheduling, equipment selection, cost estimation, budgeting and discounted cash-flow analysis.
