Zambia Cargo and Logistics Limited (ZCL) is recruiting1 Assistant Accountant. The opportunity is open to suitably qualified Tanzanians and supports accounting, reporting, tax compliance, reconciliations, audit preparation and financial-record management.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general-ledger accounts and support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements, reports and management presentations.
• Process accounts-payable and accounts-receivable transactions accurately and on time.
• Reconcile vendor statements, customer accounts and bank records and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate financial data, filing systems, databases and supporting documentation.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and support compliance with accounting standards.
• Support tax-compliance activities including VAT, PAYE, withholding tax and corporate income tax.
• Assist with asset-management processes and safeguarding company assets.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA (T), CPA (T) Finalist or being in the final stage of an accounting professional qualification is advantageous.
• Minimum 1 to 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in logistics, transportation or supply chain.
• Experience in bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of VAT, PAYE, withholding tax and corporate income-tax compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as SAGE 300 ERP or similar and advanced Microsoft Excel.
