Job Description
CVPeople Tanzania is seeking a reliable and capable Warehouse Assistant to support day-to-day warehouse and distribution activities.
The successful candidate will assist with the accurate, timely, and safe handling of stock, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, checking, loading, and dispatching goods.
The Warehouse Assistant is expected to be flexible and multi-skilled, with the ability to work across warehouse locations in Dar es Salaam, Mbeya, and Dodoma depending on operational requirements.
Job Summary
The primary purpose of the role is to support efficient warehouse operations while ensuring that stock is handled safely, accurately, and in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures.
The position requires strong attention to detail, physical fitness, teamwork, and the ability to perform a range of warehouse duties in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
General Warehouse Duties
The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for:

Carrying out duties reasonably assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or Field Support Supervisor.

Keeping warehouse areas clean, organised, and safe at all times.
-
Working across warehouse locations in Mbeya, Dar es Salaam, and Dodoma when operationally required.

Logging into the warehouse telephone system daily to ensure accessibility to Field Support and Product Supply teams.
-
Identifying and recommending practical improvements to warehouse procedures.
-
Assisting with repacking of goods, including damaged stock, batch corrections, and changes in pack sizes.
-
Receiving, picking, packing, checking, and dispatching goods in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

Ensuring goods are correctly prepared and shipped to Africa Distribution Centres and export destinations.
-
Repacking pallets to meet required weight, dimension, and load-stability standards.
-
Loading and off-loading containers and trucks arriving at or departing from the warehouse.
-
Supporting monthly stock-take cycle counts and daily cycle counts where required.

Scanning invoices through the inventory process from Accepted to Pending Inventory and Shipped status.

Ensuring warehouse invoices are processed accurately and on time.

Assisting with organising, arranging, and filing invoices.
-
Supporting other warehouse activities required to meet business needs.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The position involves regular physical activity as part of warehouse operations.
The successful candidate should be able to:

Stand and walk for extended periods.
-
Bend, kneel, pull, reach, grasp, crawl, and climb stairs where necessary.
-
Safely lift or carry loads weighing up to 20 kilograms repeatedly during the working day.
-
Work safely at heights, including racking and picking positions of 12 metres or more, using approved equipment and safety gear.
-
Work effectively in a warehouse environment with moderate to high noise levels.
-
Use appropriate hearing protection where required.
The role also requires adequate close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision to safely perform warehouse duties.

Education and Experience
Applicants should meet the following requirements:

Minimum Grade 12 or completion of Secondary Education – essential.

Ability to count accurately and determine quantities contained on pallets and in cartons – essential.

Ability to work safely at heights of 12 metres and above – essential.

Good command of written and spoken English – essential.
-
Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution centre will be an advantage.
-
Working knowledge of Kiswahili will be an advantage.
Forklift and Equipment Requirements
The following licences are highly desirable:

Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
-
Turret or Man-Up Forklift Licence.
-
Pallet Jack Licence.
Training may be provided to suitable candidates who do not currently hold these licences, subject to company policy.
