Barrick Tanzania is recruiting aUG Electrical Superintendentto lead underground electrical engineering maintenance, reliability, safety, technical governance and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce electrical and mechanical safety standards, LOTOTO and LV/MV switching procedures.
- Ensure high availability of underground ventilation, pumping, compressed-air and MV/LV electrical-distribution systems.
- Lead planned and breakdown maintenance and improve preventive-maintenance strategies.
- Ensure underground electrical systems comply with approved drawings, protection settings and engineering standards.
- Coordinate shutdowns, changeovers and major engineering interventions with mining operations.
- Lead underground electrical and mechanical projects and cost-saving initiatives.
- Track equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, power-quality and safety KPIs.
- Lead and develop underground engineering teams and strengthen MV/HV and mechanical-system competencies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional engineering certification; electrical-engineering licensure is preferred.
- Postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, automation, control systems and PLCs.
- Minimum 8–10 years of electrical-maintenance experience in mining, heavy industry or industrial operations.
- Proven MV and LV electrical-system experience and underground electrical-distribution experience.
- Valid light-vehicle manual-class driving licence.
