Barrick is seeking an experienced and strategic Resource and Database Manager to join the Barrick Africa Middle East Team in Tanzania. This leadership role involves managing resource data, database audits, geological modeling, compliance reporting, and mentoring geological staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Resource Data & Reporting: Ensure timely completion of year-end and mid-year resource data workbooks, compile annual NI43-101 reports, and oversee grade block model updates.
- Database Management & QAQC: Maintain weekly database updates, conduct quarterly audits, and review monthly/quarterly QAQC data for errors and bias trends.
- Geological Modeling & Exploration: Develop and support 3D geological modeling, re-log historic core, and implement pXRF logging procedures based on geochemical fingerprinting.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Drive MRM’s Journey to Zero programs, complete critical control verifications, conduct safety audits, and maintain environmental management systems.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise, mentor, and train on-site geological staff across MRM and Exploration groups.

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Geology or related fields (e.g., Engineering, Metallurgy).
- Active registration and good standing with a recognized professional association.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Proficiency in geological modeling software including Seequent’s Leapfrog and Maptek’s Vulcan.
- Advanced understanding of mineralogy, geochemistry, and structural geology of gold-forming systems.
