Barrick Tanzania is recruiting aLong Hole Drillerfor underground hard-rock mining operations. The role is responsible for safe, accurate and productive long-hole drilling while following mine plans and geotechnical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with Barrick health, safety and occupational-health requirements and maintain critical controls.
- Operate the long-hole drill safely and efficiently, including setup, drilling, tramming, shutdown and end-of-shift reporting.
- Interpret drill designs, ring patterns and hole plans.
- Adjust drilling parameters to suit ground conditions and achieve required hole quality.
- Complete pre-start inspections and identify mechanical or performance issues.
- Meet production targets while maintaining drill accuracy and avoiding over-drilling or under-drilling.
- Follow geological, regulatory and survey markings and install mining services where required.
- Work with technical and supervisory teams to meet safety and quality standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Drilling Machinery Competency Certification.
- Minimum 5 years of underground hard-rock mining experience with demonstrated long-hole production-drilling experience.
- Proven experience operating Sandvik DL422i or similar long-hole production drills.
- Familiarity with i-Series drill-control systems, automation features and digital drill plans.
- Strong safety focus and ability to work independently on shift with minimal supervision.
