NCBA is seeking a diligent and qualified Internal Audit Officer (Contract) to join our team in Tanzania. The role provides independent, reliable, and insightful assurance to the Board and Executive Management on the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Audit Execution (75%): Execute the annual audit plan, utilize Data Analytics tools in audit testing, track audit issues, and review financial statements for publication as guided by the Bank of Tanzania.
- Financial & Cost Optimization (5%): Conduct audit reviews that seek to optimize the bank’s operational costs.
- Customer Value & Advisory (10%): Conduct advisory and consulting audit reviews targeting customer value addition and ensure timely remediation of audit findings.
- Learning & Growth (10%): Embrace continuous professional development, attain mandatory CPD hours, and live NCBA core values.
Technical Competencies & Qualifications
- Academic Qualification: First degree, preferably in Accountancy or Finance.
- Professional Qualification: Qualified as CPA, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent, or working towards attaining a professional accounting/auditing certification.
- At least 1 year of experience in risk-based auditing or risk/control assurance activities in the financial services or banking industry.
- Practical experience in computer-based audit techniques and data analytics.
